American Iron Shootout ___________________________________ Hello to all, I would like to start off by saying, that I thank each and everyone one of you for your support in what is turning out to be a memorable day. This event will certainly benefit all of us who are either racing or doing the behind the scene activities with the joy knowing that we have in some small way have made a difference in someone's life. Just to recap some of the details that was made available to you either by me or other parties, here is what we should have shared with our members: 1. The registration fee of $35.00 ends on 1/31/2002 2. The goal set is 100 by 1/31/2002. If we do not hit that goal by that date, no problem. Only difference is that the registration fee jumps to $45.00 up till the day before the event. 3. As mentioned in number 2, registration fee will go to $45.00 after the 31st of January 2001. 4. Entry fee the day of the event is $50.00 5. Proceeds from this event will benefit 2 charity organizations (Make a Wish and Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund) As of today, feel free to attach the following banner to your site and linking it to the official site for the event. On the site you will get the up to the minute news regarding the event, as well the link to the mailing list and message forum. As of right now, there are currently 5 classes for this event. They are: Radial 1 Class - 14.00 or Slower (bracket .500) Radial 2 Class - 13.99 or faster (bracket .500) (Drag Radials are permitted in this class) Slick Class - ET's, QT's, Slicks, etc.... (bracket .500) Open Comp Class - Open Competition where all of the above is permitted. (bracket .500) Pure Muscle Class - Heads Up pro tree .400 We are currently working on getting major prizes from sponsors. As of now there is no pay out, but that could all change within the next couple of months. The above classes are subject to change. They is also talks going on to get Vinnie Budanno (IHRA pro stock modified division) to have an exhibition race with Jimmy Haulsey (owner of Cecil County and also Pro racer). This will be as an added bonus to those that are coming to watch. As you can see, this is shaping up to be a very big event. We hope that all of you can take part in this.
