ATSG Manual has pages in the front with Info on No 1-2, & No 2-3 shift problems. Since you're having trouble with both I'd look at the Servo info. since it's mentioned in 1-2 & 2-3 No shift section. The No 2-3 shift section has a lot of things to check. The Servo will be the easiest 1 tho'. Maybe you'll get lucky.:)

Maybe dirt or burrs on the valves. Get a fine honing stone & smooth all the edges on the valve lands when you drop the Vbody for the plate. Do them 1 at a time so you don't mix them up. Use Brake cleaner & compressed air for any gunk.

Did you air check the direct clutches after they were assembled in the trans through the oil feeds?

Jim Hopefully the valves will be the problem.
The air checks Bison talked about ensures none of the piston, clutch hub, shaft seals etc. were damaged during assembly. This can & should also be done when you drop the valve body. If you had CK's manual it shows where all of them are. Maybe Bison or Chris can send you a picture of the case oil feed holes. You will need an air tank or compressor and a rubber tipped blow gun will help. A small cheap compressor like is used to inflate tires and air tank would work, it would be slow but will work.

Is it a spring that was supplied in the kit or was it the stock spring?

Jim if that's the stock Accumulator spring that is mangled. It should have been left out according to instructions if you have the TransGo HD2 kit . It's replaced with the Red one from the HD2 kit.
