Looking to gut the interior mechanisms of both doors and have them rebuilt so the locks work perfectly, the windows roll up and down smoothly, and doors close solidly. Anyone have a recommended person or shop that can handle this? Comments would be appreciated.

It would probably be best if you plan on chasing your own new and / or replacement parts. Might want to talk to Mike Barnard (SPOOLFOOL2) and get his input. I am not very knowledgeable about this and he is. Also might want to contact Lou Czarnota (sheep monger) and he might specialize in this.
What it takes to do a job like that is no special skills just patience. You have to be willing to take what ever time it may to make the job perfect. Any miss alignment ,worn parts or bad seals will result in rattles, poor window operation & wind noises. Not a job I particularly go out of my way to get.
