H&K to replace the m-16?

Although really nice, I cannot see the US military replacing the M4 with HK items...they'll prolly wait until the 'rail gun' is perfected, then make the switch

Can't the U.S. gun makers produce decent military weapons anymore? Geez, both of the machineguns the Army uses are from Belgium. We've got an Italian service pistol. Now we will probably be using a German rifle as standard issue as well.

Why is that? HK makes some of the highest quality weapons in the world.

I can only hope that the US government is smart enough to not buy an imported weapon for our troops.
The M-16 might need a replacement but it needs to be a US built piece.

I carry a Sig Sauer and most cops carry a Glock.......hmmmmm.....definitely see a pattern here.

Oh yeah, and most tactical teams use the HK MP5.
