SO to make a long story short, brought my 87 t to pep boys for an inspection and they broke my shifter cable, i did some research and saw that the correct length for the shifter cable is 29 inches (and some change) I ordered the shift cable from a reputable vendor and just measured it. This cable is only 26 1/4 inches. Is this the wrong cable or will it work? Supposedly its the original gm part but i kept reading that this length is wrong? Im supposed to drop my car off to be repaired today but i dont want to if i have the wrong part. Thanks

according to kirbans the original gm cable was 26 something then they (gm) changed it to 29 something to fix a fit problem, everything i have read said the 29 something cable is the one to get.
