Man this sucks! Whether or not you were an admirer of Steve's or not he did a lot for the Turbo Buick community over the years and will be missed. I feel bad because it had crossed my mind to call him in the last few days, I guess I won't get that chance.

    God Speed Steve!

It is hard to believe that some of us have been "messing" with turbo Buicks for over 25 years, and now our community is losing some of the very passionate and dedicated members like Steve.

No other make, or brand of cars, has ever brought together such a close knit group of people who have become good friends as we have in our community.

As many of you know, Steve was one of these "good" guys, and had a lasting passion for out turbo cars, and mainly the people.

I have had the pleasure of working with him over the years, and his passing is a great loss to us all.

God speed Steve, and hope to meet again in the Greatest Car Show ever!

I am sure Mike will take a few minutes at his gathering Saturday for us to remember Steve, and his accomplishments.

Life is a gift. A very precious gift. We must not take this for granted. A few weeks ago, when I was getting ready to order plaques for this weekends car show. Something pulled at my heart and told me to also do a lifetime achievment award. To thank Steve for his devotion of bringing people together for over two decades, of Turbo Buick gatherings. Over the next week, I asked many Turbo Buick people, if they wanted to pitch in and we'd all get him this plaque. 100% of people asked supported this, and most said that it was long over due. As the show got closer. I tryed to call Steve, to make sure that he would be on hand, but got no answer. For the good part of a week, I left messages, saying that we had a livetime achievment award to give to him. A few days ago, Steve's sister (Barbra) answered his phone. She told me that Steve was in the hospital and was not going to make it. She also told me, that a few days before, when Steve could still hear and respond to people by blinking his eyes, she had told him about the message that I had left on his answering machine about everyone getting him a Lifetime Achievment Award. Steve responded that he understood who it was from, and what it was for. As far as I'm concerned, This was when he was acknowledged for the achievements he had done. This award was not, or will not be given posthumously. Even though he didn't get to take the plaque home. He recieved acknowledgement for earning it, and I'm sure was grateful. His daughter (Tiffany) is planning on attending this Saturdays car show and will be given his plaque.

We are going to set up a table at the show on Saturday, of BGNRA memorabilia. Hope to see people bring some cool stuff.

    Mike,

I love the plaque. I think Steve deserves this, I only wish he could receive it in person. As a question, has anyone discussed with Steve's daughter and sister about funeral arrangements? What I'm getting at is do you think we should take up a collection for flowers, expenses etc.?

That is a gesture I do not have words for. To see it on here and know that he will never get to, just breaks my heart.

I gotta go...my allergies, are making my eyes water...:(
