Turbo Heat Shield Re-finishing

    The heat shield on my car had some oxidized brown spots, so i used a wire brush wheel to get a new finish. probably finish with buffing wheel. were the heat shields powder coated clear, or left as bare metal from the factory?

    i had my turbo heat shield jet-hot coated....its been on the buick for the last 5 yrs and it still looks as the day i got it back from jet-hot...i also had the factory headers and cross-over done at the same time......

    Same here...heat shield sent to Jet-Hot to have it coated with ceramic. Still looks brand new. Those folks at Jet-Hot couldn't have been more nice to me...and fast turnaround. Trust me, they know what they are doing. My shield looks the same as Vince's.

    FWIW paint holds up pretty well on these as does chrome.
