My friend Bweavy at Gbodyparts.com is hooking me up with a White T Limited, Blue Int, Column Shift:eek:, and half Vinyl Top. Ultimate Sleeper:cool: I plan to drive the car a lot so... Many of you know I have a long drive several days a week...

She is bone stock so what do I do first? I have done this several times, but I want to see what you guys think and maybe try something different...

Not looking a race car, I got plenty:rolleyes:...

Very streetable. I have put in a request for a trans:biggrin: So everything else is wide open...

Anybody need any products tested;)

Don't be shy, but try to keep it at least somewhat serious:wink:

typical things for maintenance, then grab one of precisions new turbos with a ercmarshall chip/inj combo that work with a stock converter and spray it with some gogo juice.

you gonna

make it so fast it blows the doors off going down the highway just like the race car at the track ?

Keep it simple a converter and trans , good tires a chip and inj. a dutt. neck or better intercooler , good fuel pump and hot wire, tune up stuff (that's a given) and let's not forget Alky for when you wanna embarrass a BMW or big Benz:biggrin:

I'll go:

Engine:
stock crank
stock rods
forged pistons
somewhere around a 212 hyd roller cam
GN1 Aluminum heads
stock headers

Goodies on the outside of motor:
60 lb injectors
RJC FMIC
F-body Radiator
dual fans
TT SD wideband Chip for pump gas/alky
Alky kit
good free flowing but quiet exhaust (brand?)
3" Downpipe
AEM Wideband
Scanmaster
Powerlogger for track outings
HR Parts anti-roll bar and HR Parts bushings in the rear
The new aeromotive in-tank bad @ss pump
6265 billet turbo (probably don't need to be DBB... but if the $$ is there go ahead)
PTC L/U converter

I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

I'd have it on about 23 psi..... 21 deg timing..... pump gas and alky.....

Should go in the upper 10's pretty much any given day with a decent 60'..... and still knock down 20+ MPG.

Thoughts?

Throw an old school combo on it with used parts, TE44, bluetop injectors, alchy, turbotweak chip, scanmaster. Should be cheap-ish, reliable-ish and fast-ish...maybe.:D

Good/Fast/Cheap

Pick any two.

If you want it good....... and fast....... it ain't gonna be cheap.

Simple recipe, injectors, chip, FP reg. Leave the stock airbox etc. Make it a TSA car mostly.

Do the trans so it shifts well, good call.

Dynamat/insulate everything. Get a iPod receiver/head unit w/ bluetooth phone and some decent Focal separates in the doors and a decent couple of 10's in the trunk. On the road = making calls and listening to tunes.

17 or 18 inch wheels, 245 45 up front and 275 40 out back. The SLP 17x8 ZR1's are dirt cheap.

RJC 3" downpipe, test pipe and their crossflow exhaust to hopefully kill noise.

Coilovers.

Alky if you want to go quicker.

Drive it.

Love'n what I am hearing... Espically that last one:biggrin:

I went thru this progression with my current car. I have some specific recommendations.

Keep the stock exhaust until you can duplicate the Dennis Hogan style that I run.

The last TE44 I had surged a LOT, I would go with the smallest turbo you can put a ported shroud compressor on. A small, billet wheel, ballbearing turbo will work well with a loosened stock converter and make a very driveable setup.

Keep the stock downpipe, as the big ones contribute to drone.

Stock-mount style intercooler.

43lb or 60 lb injectors. With a chip to match.

Scanmaster, boost gauge.

For a daily driver, less is more.... :)

Here is a practical upgrade. New wire harness, New Battery Cables Post & Neg. and TT chip for 93. Flush the brake fluid, plugs, wires, and test the coil pack. I for sure am getting me a Turbo Buick with some color next time out. No more black cars.
Good luck!

And what kind of tires would you be burning up all year?

I love my 6.0L [LQ4] & 4L80E. Add a small (72mm or fill in the blank) turbo. BorgWarner EFR would be the plan. You could have a monster and still buy parts off the shelf of your local autoparts store. Plus a stock idle and still save a tree with your emissions too.
