Whisper quiet exhaust

I just finished re-doing my exhaust because I had crappy flowmasters. Now I have a single 3 inch Dynomax VT located after the testpipe before the rear axle feeding into a "camaro style" Dynomax ultra-flo at the stock location between the gas tank and rear axle. The car is silent as can be and zero drone.

I didnt get all fancy with mandrel bends since i have an electric cut-out dump for just in case race scenarios. As im set-up, i get 26 psi through the dump and about 24-25 through the mufflers. In the picture you see both the VT and the Ultra-flo the only thing you dont see is the left side outlet but you get the point. When I say whisper, I mean whisper. Ill try to make a vid but that'll take more time. The only thing im not happy with is the fact that ill have to either lower the rear-end or cut off the rear muffler at the inlet if I ever need to work on the rear-end. That is the least of my worries. I LOVE how quiet the car is. I have never heard the three muffler set-up and that was the initial plan (they say it is also deadly quiet), but i decided to do my own thing and im happy it worked out.

Did I mention ZERO DRONE?!!!!!! I got varying stories on wether or not the VT alone would eliminate the drone so I decided to go with the extra muffler.

Ill get to the vid sometime this week. I dont know how much more of a write up you want. Its a 3inch Dynomax VT #17957 feeding into a 3inch Dynomax ultra-flo #17536 (1 inlet, 2 outlets).

how does it sound inside the car? with no exhaust noise and zero drone, i bet you hear all sort of stuff that you never knew about before..

the first thing you will notice is that you can set the stereo volume sitting at a stoplight, and not have to turn it up when you start going....

:)

(nice job BTW)

Its a double edged sword because now I hear everything else. Being a T-top car is already makes its funky sounds inside. I can hear a very slight rattle from the heat shield on the headers at certain rpm's and I can also hear the very slight whine of the transmission at low speeds. Ill take all those quirky sounds over the drone any day.

Ok here is the video. The sound is pretty clear. My roller lifters are really quiet compared to others and you can hear them on the video. The beggining is through the mufflers and then through the dump so you can hear the difference. The flowmasters were just as loud as the dump. You really have to hear it in person to see how quiet it really is. Here you go:

So, do you get any rattling or tapping from the Dynomax VT? I can't tell from the video. I want to get the Pypes exhaust with the Dynomax's instead of the Race Pro mufflers.

No rattling at all. I cant really tell when the valve opens or closes as the exhaust is so quiet through the whole rpm range.

Once I get my engine back together I think I'm ditching the old dump I have in front of the "cat";) and getting an electric one....no more climbing under the car and getting dirty while burning my fingers to remove those wingnuts. That car sounds great!!

I have been using dyno max turbo mufflers for years, no cat, on a Hooker exh
system, with nice quiet , NO drone , exh note,
I enjoy being able to talk to my passenger , and not yell! LOL
