I will post a picture of my original 84 intake that I had to replace due to a crack in the water jacket around the thermostat housing, later today. It doesn't look at all like the one posted here by Toby. Also I cannot rack down Mark Hoeffman, either on his site or by pm on this board. It's like he has disappeared off the face of the earth??

OK so I was writing a reply and still searching, then the reply disappeared - apologise if two replies show up.

Here goes again.

No luck so far. Tried everything to reach Mark Hoeffman, including an email to him via his web site "TR Custom Parts".
It doesn't look anything like the one Toby posted. It is on my 1984 original intake manifold that I had to change out because of a crack that was leaking coolant. It looks like the one Joey is referring to.

I am reluctant to try and pry out the old one before I find a new one.

This one came from a hot air intake. Even has the correct tab in the correct orientation to the recess in the intake. Not sure. Maybe this is a true original and there were replacements? Idk...maybe I have a diamond in the rough!!

That's looks different but mine was missing I thought it just had the 6 on it but I'm interested in it if it fits the casting on the intake

I am now positive that mine was in color. Also, I believe it had the clear glass/epoxy whatever material over it. Very much like the factory Grand National emblems did. My car is a very late '85. Maybe it was changed as time went on?

One thing I know for sure........it was factory.

Mark! What's going on man? Are you alright? Where are you? Help this dude out.

man I dont know. This one as well is covered in glass. If he wants it so be it, if not Ill hold onto it. I bet there is something special about this one for some reason.

Sorry for taking so long gentlemen. I am looking for the original GM emblem. I bought my GN in 1988 and I am the second and last owner, so I guarantee that this is the emblem that came on the intake of a 1984 GN.

As you can see it is somewhat damaged as I thought I could just pop it out - not so - I have given up trying to get it out until I find a source for new ones.

Still looking

Phil
