Took 158 to the nats this year... Had a decent time even though it rained us out. Met a few people including Rafael Vasquez (great to put a face with a name and meet a fellow GNX owner) Also met Richard Clark, John Norton and saw #252 (can't remeber the young lady's name that owns it) and #168 (Knox was the owner's first name from Alabama) Gotta be honest, I remember things being way different when I went there in 2002... no where near as many cars... no cruising, no street racing... that part I missed...

Great meeting you there.

I believe #252 is owned by Karen Miller who is very active in the Carolina Chapter of the GSCA, she is often the glue that holds the chapter together.

Nice to meet you too John, I'm done reading your tutorial on the power master, you can tell Richard I flushed all of brake system out, NASTY! It's all at the correct levels now as well, I also added the manual S-10 wheel cylinders while I was there.

Glad to hear it. I take it you foot braked during your recent drag strip runs. Were you able to build enough boost on the line?

Yes, I could build 15 psi on the line and hold it. Had to get the tires hot to keep traction once the light turned green though! Ended up with 1.70 60ft... not horrible for stock converter!

Thank you, #158 will be better next year, I just wanted to drive it this year. Over the winter we are going to clean it up a bit under the hood and inside. As for #247, I have not forgotten about it and I will get a hold of the owner and see what I can do about putting you two in touch!

When I did the rear brakes I found one of the drums to be way out of round. The shoes were only touching like 1/3 of the surface, I chucked it up in our lathe and straitened it out. Then adjusted the shoes up and wallah!

2002 was a good one, even earlier too. Did you take a car back then?

Hey buddy, not sure what all you have but I'm really only in need of a few things... I'd love another set of GNX wheels, need a converter but I'm a dealer for just about everyone, need a real Buick power antenna, would love to find a set of factory floor mats... let me know!

Not sure if this was you or not? Leaving the track going through town in light rain I believe this was Friday?

Bought a set of black floor mats from Kirban (no logo). Probably about as close as you will get to factory

Yep, that's me! What's hilarious about this photo to me is, my arm is up over my head... and my wife is in the car with me!!!!!!! Where the hell is she, and what is she doing??? Sorry my sense of humor is filthy!

I know what you mean, but several years ago I bought a prefect 86 Cutlass... only issue was it did not have the original floor mats... 2 years after I bought it the old owner sent me a package, he found the floor mats in his garage and sent them to me! I have a Typhoon and a Marauder, both have the original mats... I need a set!

So we can all assume the tilt steering works just fine? LOL
