GBody Parts replica GN wheel lug nuts

Does anyone have the Gbody parts GN aluminum replica rims and used the lug nuts that came with them? I put one to check brake clearance and my socket is pretty tight up against the rim and when you run them down by hand there is only a very small section above the face of the rim. Didn't know if others have found a fancy thin wall socket or just changed lug nuts. I hat to scratch them up on the first install.

Thanks

Hey joel are those replica rims 15x8 or 15x10 . A picture of the rim mounted an lug nut would help a lot..

15x8.

I don't know the offset of those rims, but those are the wrong lug nuts, they should look like this. I know Brian has been hard to contact lately at GBody ,maybe try emailing him to get the correct lug nuts. Kirban has them part#6655.

thanks. I'll check those out.

Subscribed as I just purchased these wheels too.

My current socket also doesn't fit in the holes. Please let me know if you have a solution

I tried one of my old rusty original lugs and they will work and the socket has clearance like Buckshot G/N mentioned. I went by 4wheelparts on the way home and picked up some splined lugs in black. They came with an install socket with even more clearance.

Nice. I tried one of my originals and it fit also. I just ordered a new set from Kirban.
What a pain in the ass

Maybe its me but those lug nuts look awful. Can you post a pic of the whole wheel, maybe a couple feet away, so we can see all of the lugnuts?

This is interesting. I bought my front 15x8 new from gbody last week and the rear 15x10 like new last week from a forum member. Brian's came with lugs. The forum member wheels did not. I am searching for 10 more lugs. The ones Brian sent appear to be nothing more than M12x1.5 acorn alloy lug nuts, 1.4" long, 13/16" hex. I will be pretty pissed if my lugs have that LITTLE clearance in the hole. No way. Brian did a great job on my wheel order but $40 shipped for 10 lugs that fit like that...no thank you.
I too will find different lugs locally.

I inspected the clearance between the supplied lugs and the hole in the gbody wheels. It's tight but a thin wall socket or sparkplug socket will do the trick. However, I ended up picking up a set of lugs with the external spline that provide even more clearance.

I've got these rims too and the clearance is pretty tight. Here's what I've found to help when installing the wheels.
Start lug nuts but do not tighten down anymore than finger tight. Then take your socket and insert in one of the holes barely going any tighter, just enough to cinch it down. Now move to the next one doing the same thing. On the second one you may find it takes a little wiggle to get the socket to go down into the hole.
When you go to the third you'll find the socket is more square to the hole and goes in easier. Do this to all 5. Your 4th and fifth ones will be centered.
Now go back and tighten as normal. You'll find each one square and the socket will recess into the rim just fine.
The holes are a tight fit to the socket. Making sure all the lug nuts are squared up in the center is the key though before you tighten down any of them.
