Manual Boost Controller

Agian why mount it under the hood ?? To guess every time you want to adjust your boost? Or do you just like the look of it in the engine bay ? Just curious guys
I guess its hard to go thru the fire wall , But I just installed a Hallman under my hood . Its set on 26 lbs and works great but I do get what dank GN is saying

Okay so that's the reason for mounting it under hood is the pluming . I understand that could be Alil intimidating having to run stuff through the firewall . Believe me I had my first BC under hood for the same reason. I thought after I plumed it inside that all the vacuum lines would cause some type of delay in the control of the gate . Much to my surprise it had 0 effect on the operation of it .

And I guess my thinking is the futher away means slower reaction time to spool . Which is probably wrong

I run this one with great success..

I ran a MBC that I bought off eBay that was similar to rjc . And it performed the same if not better of all the other boost controller I have ran . I would say about 98% of the manual boost controllers function the same . They all have a spring and a ball . With something to apply tension to the spring After realizing this and being pissed for paying top dollar for muiltable MBC and just the name on them I switched to a electronic boost controller that actually has differences in the way the soft wear is programmed

Dark GN, I used it to tune the car for 21 psi boost and haven't touched it since. If I were constantly adjusting boost or wanted the ability to adjust on the fly I would definitely have mounted it inside the car.

Thanks for all the feedback gentlemen!
I just ordered the Hallman RX kit to mount the controller inside the car.
I'm going to put it somewhere inconspicuous. I don't like a cluttered looking interior personally.

that actually looks like a nice remote setup, let us know how it installs. might be worth trying one out. It says it uses a ceramic ball and lighter spring setup for finer adjustments and quicker response. but doesn't give a max boost capability with that spring. wondering if it will go between 25 and 30 PSI boost?

The rep said that the controller will work up to 25-30 psi. Once I'm back from vacation I'll get it installed and take some pics.

Very nice! How has the Hallman treated you?

It's great I wouldn't change it for anything else. About 1 full turn is 1 lb of boost. Turned all the way out is 15lbs to all the way in at 30lbs.

And moving it inside the car was the best thing I ever did.

I had mine on the pass side valve cover right where the stock boost solonoid use to be before I moved it to the inside of the car. Sorry don't have any pics
Can you tell me at what area of the firewall you push thru to inside of car ? That bc knob and mounting bracket is pretty big,

Right by the steering shaft on the drivers side. It comes out right above the pedals under the dash.

The cable can be started from the inside of the car.
