The axle clamp u bolts are under the brake lines.
I've gotten a few miles on it now and brought it to work today. I need at least 30 more 1-2 shifts on the trans then I'll start putting some moderate power to the 2-3 shifts. Transmission should be well broken in by that time.
 
Alright I really need to keep an eye on distributor and rotor terminals with my higher energy ignition. Even this premium HEI cap with solid brass targets had a buildup of an ionized layer of crud deposited inside the Dist cap causing misfires. Major upgrade installed in the form of 8.2 spiral wound plug wires, I just had cheap resistor wires on it always before. That one out of place wire will get moved... trying something different.

 
I just stumbled across your thread here and this is freakin cool. how does the car run with that 800cfm carb and a front mount? hard to tune?
 
In the beginning. ... lol it was difficult to get a handle on the tuning, I learned quickly with it and it is much easier now.

This setup in my machine runs very well and is much light on the pocket. The last three years it got much faster, it's making 10 second power I'd say but never had it on a dyno after ported iron heads. It went 11.38@122 in 2015 with 1.7 60ft
Last year I got a better torque converter and had my trans rebuilt then I never got any runs after my first two test passes due to trans then having a failure. It went 11.6@124 with a 2.0 60ft right before trans died.

It was said the stage rite brake in my trans is what caused the failure but prior to that rebuild and 5 years of beating on it with that trans brake I never would have thought twice. Now I'm scared to use that stage right brake at all
I'm about ready to go to the track again soon, never having better than a 1.7 60ft. I know this car will go in the 10's and over 125 mph.
 
Doubt it was the brake then. Blaming other things for mistakes it sounds like. Sweet build!
 
Drove this machine to the local out of state drag strip 94 miles round trip, made 5 passes. Car died cruising 70 mph on highway about 20 miles from home.
Lost part of #2 piston/spark plug, other 5 holes look good but engine is still together.
