    Not a starter problem

Thanks guys, I'll check that. Aaron, the prying was for putting the bottom section on. I finally used pliers to get it on. I am not very mechanically inclined and normally pay someone to do my work. This just gives me reassurance that I have been making the right decision! LOL

    Not a starter problem

Yesterday I changed out my "S" bypass hose. There was some prying, pulling and out right yelling and screaming. I refilled the overflow tank and went to start the car to get the coolant back where it belongs. That is where I am now. The engine cranks but won't catch. I checked the gas pressure...

What's your horror story about buying a Turbo Buick?

I bought mine 11 years ago and spun a bearing the next day. Was in bumper to bumper traffic in a toll way when it happened. The seller asked me how hard I was driving it. It had a "rebuilt engine" with less then 1000 miles on it. It was also a GNX clone. He had the car for a "few" months...

    Oil pressure at start up

At cold start the oil pressure is 82 psi. Is this common? If not, what is normal?

    Oil cooler question

Thanks Pronto. My wife agrees with you and would sell it to anyone that comes knocking. And throw my dog in for free! LOL. I had the engine rebuilt locally by Rich Groh so I am not worried abut that. I was debating about getting a new computer or going back with the original. Rich recommended...

    Oil cooler question

Pronto, the temp runs was running over 200. Part of the problem was that the fan was only on low with the high setting set to come on at 250 (that has been fixed). The engine is now running between 180-200. I don't know about the thermostat. The ecm is a Gen 6 that was put in around 98 (I bought...

    Oil cooler question

Thank you Nick. This is a street car used for fun and not for racing. The question was running the oil through the radiator and any problems that can occur because of it. His comment was that with the oil running through the radiator and the temp was running hot then it wasn't cooling the oil. I...

    Oil cooler question

The problem wasn't the tuner. The car is tuned and running better than before. He owns his own business and has been tuning cars for a long time including hundreds of GN's. He looked at the problem of my engine spinning a bearing then a rod knock and began to look at the oil issue. After...

    Gnx?

You can check the GNX registry on FB. They are willing to help and preserve the GNX. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-GNX-Registry/428138587232123

    Oil cooler question

I just got my car back from the tuner. Since I had 2 oil related problems he started to look at why that was occurring with this car. He stated that he isn't a fan of this engine but they aren't known to have the problems that I had with mine. The first thing he finds when looking under the hood...

    Speedo question

VDO gauge. As for the mileage part, it appears to be accurate. I was thinking that since the engine has been rebuilt 3 times since I owned it and other modifications that were made then it might be a gearing issue.

    Speedo question

When I purchased my 86 GN it was already cloned as a GNX. The company I bought it from had put in a GNX dash but not all the gauges worked. The speedo was always reading 15-25 mph more than I was actually doing. The needle was bouncing and only accelerated when over 20 mph. I am having the oil...
