Increase your protein gradually as you increase the intensity of your weightlifting exercises. It is important to limit the amount of your workouts to three to four times a week. You want to provide time for your body to repair itself. If you overwork your body you have a greater chance of getting an injury and then needing to take time off to let it heal. Provide your body with plenty of the right fuel on exercise days. It is always a good idea to increase calorie consumption approximately an hour before working out. This doesn't mean you should overeat on workout days; you should, however, eat more on days that you work out than on days that you don't.
