First check all your ground wires. What's your fuel presure like? Do you have an external gauge that you can look at when this happens? Are you running a scan tool? If so what is it telling you?

I don't think it's going to hurt anything leaving it like it is. I think that it might get better flow with them drilled out.

I heard that they where running on thurdays nights, but as far as only having a 6 or less I don't know about that. Probably be a good night to go if you want to make alot of passes.
