The project GN I purchased last year came with a bunch of extra parts one of them being a FMIC Spearco intercooler from the 84-85 hotair conversion kit. Im planning on a 4.1L Budget Build so my question is, will this intercooler be sufficient? I am still debating on which turbo to run.

Forgot all about this thread, haha. I found out that the D44 came from Mexico where evidently a few of the Malibus and Montes came with these from the factory.
My next question is how strong are Dana 44 units? Should I just keep it and freshen it up or should i hunt down a 10 bolt?

Would it help any if i have the deck resurfaced to see if maybe the cracks are superficial?
I found a '291' block a few weeks ago at a junkyard and this past weekend a buddy of mine cleaned it up and magnafluxed it for me.
To my dismay 4 cracks were found all of which are between the water jacket and bolt holes. Is this block just a 200LB piece of scrap metal now? Is there any other...
Im currently begining a 4.1 project and Iam having trouble locating the timing cover from a 14 bolt engine but i do have 2 20 bolt covers sitting in my garage. Would I be able to use the 20 bolt cover on the 4.1 as it is or are there some modifications that are required. :confused:
