I am trying to diagnose my car. Its a fresh build, and was running strong at 24psi boost, good clean logs.
My dumb ass forgot to torque down the caps that hold the drive shaft to the pinion, so when I was about to launch the car the bolts had eventually walked out enough wear the u-joints tore...
If anybody else wants to show up. Hwy 105 @ 149 … behind oreilly auto parts. Its always hit or miss out there, 10-40 cars. but since the GNXs are coming out, figured I'd pass the word.
I just put one on my new "max effort" 109 build.
1. It looks bad ass.
2. It mates up to the 3" intercooler pipe
3. I had a bone stock throttle body and im building a mid 9 second car, so it made since.
No regrets, nice piece. I called him up and I had it two days later.
New motor gas gn1 heads. The stock header studs are too long, they bottom out before the manifolds are clamped down.
Never read about this before .. anybody sell a set of bolts/studs?
what did you notice about the 104 vs the 103s? How did it like it better?
My stock longblock @ 35psi on e85 ran best with stock heat range plugs too. no knock. I tried colder plugs and it ran noticeably rougher and I fouled a couple of them in short time.
Well shoot. I just got them a few months ago. Was going to order spark plugs today. Wonder what threads they are. Im at work and guessing every vendor is closed today.
thanks. Still wondering about the spacer. I have to go to my shop this weekend and look at it again, but I was sold a valve cover spacer, saying I needed it to clear the rockers. So wondering if I need two sets of gaskets or RTV one side of the spacer, etc.
