I KNOW ITS BEEN TOSSED AROUND ALOT ON HERE BUT I NEED TO GET DOOR SPEAKERS..I HAVE FACTORY RADIO AND I KNOW OHMS MATTER..IS THERE A COMPANY THAT SELLS 5 1/4 10 OHM REPLACEMENT SPEAKERS?KIRBAN DOES NOT AND EBAY SHOWS NONE...IF THE DASH ARE STOCK 10 AND I PUT 4 OHM DOORS IN THAT MAKES IT 6 OHM CORRECT?WILL THE FACTORY RADIO HANDLE THAT?

Update...I pulled off the dash plate and noticed that this set up was the tweeter style front speakers..I can tell they are factory and I've seen them on this site before..Does anyone know what ohm they are?I removed both door panels and the speakers are aftermarket...The are a cheaper off brand and say 4 ohm..I'm wondering since the fronts are probably 10 and doors are 4 ohm would that be 6ohm??Would that still blow a channel out after awhile on a stock radio?Aloy of questions but I only want to do this once..Thanks to anyone that can help!!

I am in the same boat as you. I replaced the rears with Kenwood 6 x 9's and have a set of Kenwood 5.25 ready to go in the doors but they are 4 OHM as well. Crutchfield stated they would work but like you I have read otherwise here. When and if you find something that works let me know.

Well i just got done putting the door speakers in, and they sound great. The factory radio actually over powers everything,I have to fade a little to the rears so the doors don't blow..Depending what you have in the dash is question..I know I the ohms for the front channels have to be around 6 ohm..I'm going to 6x9 next project..Did you get the new style 6x9 baskets to hang yours or did you just zip tie them in?

I used the adapter and bracket kit for the rear 6 x 9's but still ended up using zip ties as I had issues with the mounting hardware. My dash speakers are OEM, did you put 4 OHM speakers in the doors?

rodman, did you have any clearance issues with the door speakers, I'm under the impression depth is critical...what model number did you settle with...

that factory radio is junk replace it. depth will vary depending on magnet.

that's what I was refering to, what's the total depth of the cavity to determine magnet size...let's say 8 oz. magnet, how deep would the speaker be if it had a standard size magnet...I read somewhere it was 2.25", dunno

I WAS LUCKY,IT LOOKS LIKE WHOEVER INSTALLED THE DOOR SPEAKERS THE FIRST TIME(AFTERMARKET) WAS A SHOP...THEY MADE LITTLE WOOD RING INSERTS FOR THE SPEAKERS..LOOKS LIKE THEY WERE MADE FROM MDF PARTICLE WOOD..IT LIFTED THE SPEAKER OUT OF THE POCKET SOME..
