Hi, I'm John and last May purchased my second Turbo Buick. Back in 1989 I bought a 87 GN and had it for three years and regretted selling it ever since. Over the last few years I been having this recurring dream that I was driving my GN and after I parked it in the garage I woke up and realized it was just a dream. I decided it was time to get another one, I found one a limited not a GN on ebay from a guy in Pennsylvania. It turns out the car went from North Carolina to Illinois to Pennsylvania and back to Illinois. The last four owners are members on this board. I already purchased a some parts from a couple of members for it off this board and everyone seems to be real down to earth and helpful. I'm glad I joined up.

Welcome John,

There's a bunch of turbo Buick guys in Chicago and surrounding burbs.

Thats quite a history for the car you acquired. Any pics you can share?

Here's a pick from the ad when I purchased it. Where do all the turbo buick guys hand out at? I met a couple at the Sycamore downtown cruise last year and one other cruise night but that's about it. I saw there was a buddies and buicks show that I missed after I joined this site, I hope they have one this year.

John,
I may have talked to you today. Either way, welcome to the site.:)
Welcome back to the Turbo Buick world. Funny, but a lot hasn't changed since you last owned one. We still like to go fast with class. We still humble six figure exotics, on a regular basis. guess it's just what we were went to do.:D We do try to be humble though.;) That is one great looking sleeper. What all's done to it?

Happy spooling.

The previous owners added a cone air filter, walbro fuel pump, accufab reg, edelbrock exhaust, gauges and I just picked up a chip injecter combo new hood pad and I replaced the rear main seal. It also came with a vacuum brake setup dual fans, spare coil pack, maf sensor, and a few other parts in the trunk. I still need to get a scanmaster. Hopefully I will get it dialed in mechanically and take it to the track and see what it can do.

Nice. What chip, injector combo did you get?

Hey local gents. Years ago the street scene was pretty stout in the Chicago area. Sioux trail, Flossmore ? Several other good spots regularly attended after meeting up at Dukes Drive-in & bench racing till late.

That still going on? I hear of a spot in Elwood? Over by Route 66 drag way... Ring a bell with anyone? I see plenty of burnout-boxes out behind the trucking joints on the cement streets... Looking for a glimpse. Anyone have a idea?

No clue where any street racing is going on anymore. Last time I was at a street race was back in the late 80's.

Sauk trail is pretty much dead because of the nearby houses calling the police. Flossmoor road still sees some action here and there but there are too many deer. arsenal rd. in elwood is used once in a while too. Now its all plan it on the phone, race and get out.
