With my sound system still factory stock and the rear speakers sounding horrible (foam around cone coming apart), I wanted to find something that would drop right in, no adapters and give better sound than the original. I just wanted something quick and easy at this time and worry about some crazy sound system later.

If you want something cheap, easy, quick and provides better sound than stock, here is one option for you guys.

Go on Amazon and search KFC-835C. These are the front 3.5" speakers. Click on Prime to the Left. Click on the one with 20 reviews. Then, make sure you enter your vehicle information to check fit. You'll see that it fits. Then scroll down on the page and you'll see a "frequently bought together" and there you'll see your whole kit, including rear 4"x10" speakers and a pair of the speaker wire adapters for the rear speakers. $89.00!!!

I installed this whole kit yesterday afternoon after the Kirban meet in about 90 minutes with most of that time spent fussing with the front speaker cover. Can be done in 60 minutes next time.

Rear speaker install notes: The Metra 72-4500 wire plugs work perfectly. The rear speakers with the kit are a hair taller at the mounting surface than the factory so you need to bend the aluminum speaker cradle end tabs a little to in effect "drop" the cradle a hair. Piece of cake, 5 minute fix with a pair of pliers.

Front speaker install notes: the speaker contact + and - tabs coming off the new front speakers are much narrower than the speaker wire plug ends coming up from the dash, meaning the factory front speakers had wider tabs that plugged into the dash speaker wire ends. All I did was slide the wide speaker wire tabs over the new smaller tabs on the new speakers and took a channel lock and some needle nose pliers and slowly crimped them down to the right size to hold the smaller tabs very tightly. Ok, I squashed them on but they hold and work perfectly. Problem solved.

Other than that, the primary challenge of the job is finding the right tool to fit in the tight spots between the front windshield and the speaker cover to get some of those star screws out. That's always an adventure.

So, the results. Umm, these sound 10X better than factory fronts and half-working fuzzy rear speakers. Clearer, loud - just a perfect, cheap, awesome replacement and upgrade. Is it an aftermarket, killer sound system? Not at all. But I'm not ready for that yet plus I want to keep the stock look for now.

I hope this is helpful.

Good luck!
