Hey Man yea what a KOOL pic , I bet everybody here wishes they was standing there with a check to get theirs

That would have been cool to see. The small town dealership I got mine at sold only one, mine, it was made to order with speacial delivery all by itself, at least not with any other GN's.

Right click save- thanks! I bought a '86 GN new back in the day. Remember them being on the dealer lot.

You were able to order it with the options you wanted? That is something unheard of today. I tried, in vane, to order a Cruze with a manual transmission. Only get one if it happened to be in stock. I guess you can only get certain options if you are buying a million dollar car these days. No chance I could buy a 2016 Malibu with the 2.0L turbo without upgrading to the 2LT package. Man you could have bought a GN or T-Type with no power options, radio delete, AC delete with the LC2 engine. Gone are those days.

I ordered it with halogen headlamps, digital dash, carpet floor mats, best radio w/ concert sound II, posi, heavy duty battery, white letter tires, theft deterrent w/ starter interrupt and get this, a block heater. After all, I live in Iowa and this is just a cool looking car, so I thought.
I didn't even order tilt wheel.
I went back to the dealer to check on status two weeks later, they gave me the magazine reprints, gun slinger in black, corvette killer and so on.
The theft deterrent w/ starter interrupt system was not available without ordering power door locks, so the dealer added the tilt wheel option and deleted the theft deterrent option to make the price the same. A/C and cruise were standard on the GN, not sure if it could be deleted.
Hard top car w/ no P/W, PDL, no power antenna, no power seat, no lighted visors or mirrors.

Great Pic, I remember standing outside the Showroom front window of a Buick dealership in Howard beach NY, and drooling over the GN that was inside…couldn't afford the $17,000 sticker price at the time.

Damn inflation! $37K price tag if it were today.

I remember turning 16 and my dad wanted to go car hunting for me. He was an Oldsmobile man. Looked at the Cutlass GT, the 442 and then we went to the Buick dealership and test drove a GN. My dad couldn't get over the V6 sound and I ended up getting a new Cutlass GT. Man did we have our priorities all wrong, in fact the dealer told me that I could get it in black too, because i kept making a reference to the GN.

Would you post this pic without the text? The OPs pic is only showing half of the truck from some reason. Thanks and awesome pic!

Sorry been on vacation and hadn't been on here much lately. I'll have to look and see if I have that or not? Seems like I have it both ways, but, I'll have to check my PC when I get home.
