First kill new buick owner

Went from stock d5 converter to the art Carr. My previous best time of 12.28@115 was before the transmission rebuild. Apparently you usually lose mph when going to a NLU converter.

Glad you got there! Your mph seems low. Have you ever calculated the slip?
I'm not real happy with the mph drop. But from what I've been told with the loose art Carr converter you give up mph for 60 foot and faster turbo spool.

my mph was 119 with my fd up converter running a 10.97 .. it was bruce's 9x11 that I sent back twice. the stock motor blew threw it

my art car 3200 stock long block best 60ft was 1.55 and was only good for 1/8 it fell on its face after that 7.40's

Calculate out your slip. I believe you're giving up way more than you think.

Seems to be my problem too

1.636 60 ft
4.784
7.496 1/8 @ 90.045 mph
11.896 1/4 @ 110.396

I don't know enough about converters yet but I'd be pissed if I put a new one in and lost 5mph.

Not to bring you down. Still a good time. What was your 60' with the 115 mph, 2.0+?

Running 25 then and now.. Before I couldn't hold any boost. I installed s10 wheel cylinders and can hold 10 easy. Before converter change I was running 8.xx 1/8 at 91 mph. With the art Carr I'm running 90 mph at 7.4. I wouldn't be getting 1.6 60 foot with the d5. So I did lose mph last 1/8th but have gained a lot in the 60 foot.

Ya, it looks like your converter is not coupling at the top end. You may want to consult the converter experts here to zero in on something that might allow you better coupling at the top end without giving up too much stall.

Thought I'd bring my mustang kill back from last year gotta love what the guys dad says about the old Buick lol
