Low and crazy tps values

I decided to change my battery today in my 87 TB been running great , been showing signs of age and weakness at times, changed battery and went to set my 5.7 chip back up of my wot settings with my lap top connected to the pl , did not want to set for some reason , so I tried to do the pedal stop method and still no go . So I start to check tps figures in SM 2.2 and pl still hooked to computer , low below figures were like 30 at idle and wot was 3,65 , I tried to see if something had moved or what , nothing seemed loose or off, tried another tps and turned it by hand still low wot settings . So I tried to see if pl has lost connection , and checked all connections at ecm and all seemed fine . Had another ecm and bam all the figures on the tps were what it always have at 42 at idle and wot was 4.65 , then I could pedal stomp or use lap top to set figures in the chip again , has anybody run into that with a ecm before , this makes me wonder why it happened after a battery change , does not make sense ?

sounds like you damaged the 5v regulator in the ecm, have had ecms like that before where the 5v would fluctuate and the amount of change followed directly to the tps value ..would wander all over the place

and it wont just affect the tps it will also affect the MAP sensor

Thanks Paul for the reply , How would I have damaged the 5v regulator in the ecm or was it just time to go bad and I just happened to find it at a good time ? I just do not want to do it again if I did it and not knowing when I did it ,
