I am doing a 6.0/ 4l80e swap with a stand alone harness with vss output. Are there any converters out there besides TCI that I could use to connect a factory digital dash? I only need speedometer to work. Thanks for any suggestions.

on digital dash speedometer is cable driven just like the analog dash
the vss optical pickup is used for the ecu and cruise and is screwed to back of dash and uses the mechanical spinning of the disc inside the cluster to trigger the optic sensor which creates a pulse for the vss buffer by the driverside of the radio , that buffers converts and sends a signal to the ecu and for the cruise control ... something you wont need for the swap you've done
if you want speedo to work either convert the 4l80 to mechanical ( http://www.shiftworks.com/tailhousing.htm ) or change out the digital dash for a gnx style (look up gns performance ) and get a speedo that uses GPS or vss digital input that's programmable for the electronic vss sender in your trans

Forget the brand but there is a GPS sender for $58 on ebay.

I have a 4l80e in my car which has a digital dash. You can tap into the factory vss behind the dash but the signal needs to be 2000ppm, the factory 4l80e setup is 4000ppm. I used a tci EZ-TCU that is programmable and ran the output into a wire off the VSS and it functions perfectly. (I did this back in 2013 but for some reason I believe that wire was green... check to make sure though).
