During the Turbobuick.com Nats event, it was discovered that some (approx 20%) of my new magnetic quarter panel protectors were coming off. Here are the reasons I found. There may be more.

Thick undercoating under paint, Bondo on Quarter panel(s), stuck over rubber and mud, large holes in quarter panels, not installed correctly (hanging down off the edge), temp too cold for product to conform to quarter panel, parts cut too long (my fault),.

I do my best to provide a quality product. I will admit when I have failed. I've had a set of these on my ten second GN for 15 years with no problems. I've put them on other test cars with no problems. If you own one of the few sets that got sold, you have a very rare Spoolfool product. I doubt any one else will be selling these, anytime soon. I'm sure you can sell them for much more than the thirty bucks you paid. If you decide to run them, just make sure that they are flush on all edges. Many were cut to fit cars without the wheel well trim. If you have wheel well trims, cut 3/8" off the back edge with scissors to not hang over onto the bumper filler.

Spoolfool tip of the week: Stick your favorite stickers on your new magnetic quarter panel protectors. Cut around the stickers with a par of scissors and wallah... Instant refrigerator magnets. :D

Big thanks to all who have trusted in me and my products.

I'm one of the lucky ones who got a pair. Thanks Mike for custom fitting them to my car.

I just bought two sets at Kirban's open house for a friend and I. Guess it was good timing. I don't have any wheel moldings or bondo in the quarters so maybe they will work for me.

So no chance of buying a set that you have left, in inventory? I mean you've made aware of the possible pit falls (please pardon the pun)??? So it's not like we wouldn't be aware, right? As I'm fairly certain that I could make a set work on my car! Just hadn't jumped on it earlier because I was busy adding alky to my car.

Or if that doesn't interest you then how about another contest??

Mad Mike,
You installed mine during the TB.com Nationals- they worked like a champ. In fact they stayed on my car during the Seven hour tow back to Atlanta and I did not remove them off the car for at least two weeks . Sorry you feel that way about the product my friend.

Mine work fine you just have to have clean 1/4 panel to put it on and use a little finesse. The one set I saw fail at tb.com was being applied to a very dirty surface.

I had the same set on my car for 15 years with no problems. They are a great product. I've put them on many West coast cars with zero issues.
However, West Coast cars don't have rusted out quarter panels filled with Bondo. ;)

Can I still get a set? I assume responsibility that I'm not a moron and will not hold the maker accountable. [emoji12]

No sir... That ship has sailed.

And sank. ;)

Sorry they didn't work out the way you wanted, Mike.

I have a set. I haven't used them yet for a couple of reasons.

A. My car is white, even though I used to use Green Painters Tape.

B. I'm currently using SunTek Paint Protection Film for the same purpose. My PPF guy removes and reinstalls it whenever it gets to looking nasty, making it a hard habit to break. :D

No, I'm not interested in selling them at this time.

I was offered a hundred bucks for a set a few weeks ago and said "No". Anyone who has these can sell them for more than they paid, I'm sure.

Mike, I think if you sold them with the caveat that there's not guarantee due to the amount of filler a quarter panel may have, that buyers would still be willing to take the chance. It sounds like there are so many people that really liked this product.

having customers to buy these was never a problem. I stand behind my products 100%.
This is not a product that I can stand behind 100%. It's just not worth having bad feedback over. Even if it's a small percentage.
Having a good reputation is hard to achieve and easy to loose.

To me, it's just not worth it.
