Hey guys got my turbo off today since the motor is out of the car for a rebuild, and I noticed it has a substancial amount of in and out play but none side to side. Is this normal for turbos? I also noticed their is a bit of white soot build up on the one exhaust side.

I took my 87GN over to my local mechanic to have a major oil leak and white pufs of smoke out the exhaust on deceleration check out. The oil leak is between the block and trans. Called him today. he said the engine has to come out to change the rear main seal because its a "two piece gasket"...
