    My L36 (same crank as l67 with weaker rods and pistons) has been 10.26@134 at 3130 lbs. That was on 19 lbs from 6262. Been as high as 23 lbs on the street, first run at 22 lbs at the track, the transmission input shaft sheared on the 1-2 shift. No hint of problems from bottom end yet.

    Stock 4.8 LSX goes 8's

    Several guys on yellow bullet state they have run 8's on untouched 5.3 bottom ends. No rod bolts or ring gap changes, just cam, heads and turbo. Pretty impressive for factory parts.

    Different rods for each. All powdered metal, but not the same. Seen both break, and personally prefer the older rods, but the N/A L26 rods are definately a weak point.

    Compression isn't an issue with a good turbo and intercooler. I am running 9.4:1 as well. I would however recommend you find another engine. The 04+ N/A engines(L26) have much weaker rods than any of the other 3800 engines. I would rate the 97-2003 L67(supercharged) rods the strongest. The...

    Thanks! Had some settings wrong, so TC slip was actually only around 20%. Hoping to go to another track(airstrip) that isn't so tight on the rules at the beginning of August, hopefully with the changes to the tune/shifting I've made, it might run into the 9s.

    I'm guessing close to 600(dynojet) at 19 lbs. Your ex wheel is bigger than my 62, but 134.44 at 3130lbs is around 58x whp, interested to see your results. Hows spool with the 66 ex wheel? What rpm on foot brake?

    Uploaded another video of the run, my wife filmed this one. Looking at the data logs, 10.5-11.0 AFR, 28% converter slip in 3rd gear at the traps.

    Was kind of thinking the same thing, but I'm sure I'm not really pushing this too much. Drive around on the street with the 13.5 psi setting, and spool up is about perfect. Only track it a couple of times a year, nice knowing the power is there though :)

    I was going to run 255/60, but the 3.29 gears didn't last, might try 255/50r15 on next set, but this is what has been on my car for years. Think I'm on my 3rd set.

    Thanks! There is lots of steel under all that plastic and fiberglass :) I have also added bigger brakes and a roll bar. The only weight reduction I have done is the spare and jack, it doesn't fit over the brakes anyway. But raced it the way I drive it around. I think with a bit more time...
