superjim's PCV catch can and evacuation system

Test fit the grommet and and the pcv valve prior to installation to get the fit you want. I used a small dremel grinder bit to take a couple thousands off the ID of the grommet so it would take excessive force to install the pcv valve after the grommet was installed.

superjim's PCV catch can and evacuation system

keep in mind there are several different Dorman grommet #'s with different size holes. If you get one that the bard can go through, it wont give a good seal on the throat of the valve. That's why a tighter hole (pardon that phrase) works if you slice the barb. It was really a poor design...

superjim's PCV catch can and evacuation system

I embarked on a project to improve my pcv system, get oily vapors out of the engine bay and cabin, and reduce oil leaks. I found the pcv valve and grommet (even the latest aftermarket style) has been a source of problems for a lot of people. Getting an oem style pcv valve installed in the...

what are the best spark plug wires?

I installed the Taylor thurnderbollt about 8 years ago and less than 5000 miles on then, I changed plugs this weekend and broke three wires removing them. The metal conductor that connects to the plug pulled out of the wire. And I was being careful I already ordered a set from highway stars. Any...

    Oil leak...synthetic vs. dino oil

I am in the process of trying to reduce or eliminate oil leaks. I have installed exhaust scavenging tube in the exhaust to the valve covers. This pretty much did the trick on my Typhoon. I also installed a catch can and check valves to prevent the pcv system from pressurizing the case. Next...

PCV Grommet- Best Way to Replace?

Oh, and one other tip: Stuff a rag or something inside that tunnel behind the pcv valve. Otherwise that sneaky grommet will try to jump back in there and hide from you. Remember to remove the stuffing after you celebrate getting that pesky grommet installed.

PCV Grommet- Best Way to Replace?

Sharing my experience and some tips that may help someone else. I started out just replacing the pcv valve. But when trying to press the valve into the old grommet, the grommet pushed all the way into the intake. At first I went into panic mode. I was able to fish it out with a coat hanger...

Help! PCV Grommet fell into intake

I was attempting to change out the PCV Valve and accidently pushed the grommet down into the intake. Not able to see it at all. Now the question is: What if I leave it in there and just get a new grommet? Will it be a problem and cause damage? Or do I have to pull the intake and retrieve it?

    PCV Help?

But I think it will still work together as you said. The exhaust tube has a check valve so exhaust can't come back up to the intake

    PCV Help?

Oh, I forgot to mention: I have the exhaust scavenging evacuation system on both valve covers to the exhaust. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BZX4F4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details so not sure how that would work together.

    PCV Help?

Give me your thoughts on this: factory pcv valve to evil energy catch can non-vented. Then the outlet of the can to a hose with a Tee. From the Tee, one side to a check valve to the distribution block on the throttle body. The other outlet of the Tee to the intake pipe just before the turbo...

What Inspired You to Buy Your Turbo Buick ??

I think the year was 1986 or maybe 87. I was standing on the balcony of my apartment and saw my first Grand National drive through the parking lot. It slowed down for a speed bump, then took off. About 40 feet out it lit the rear tires up. I knew then I had to have one. Only took me about...
