Test fit the grommet and and the pcv valve prior to installation to get the fit you want. I used a small dremel grinder bit to take a couple thousands off the ID of the grommet so it would take excessive force to install the pcv valve after the grommet was installed.

keep in mind there are several different Dorman grommet #'s with different size holes. If you get one that the bard can go through, it wont give a good seal on the throat of the valve. That's why a tighter hole (pardon that phrase) works if you slice the barb. It was really a poor design...

I am in the process of trying to reduce or eliminate oil leaks. I have installed exhaust scavenging tube in the exhaust to the valve covers. This pretty much did the trick on my Typhoon. I also installed a catch can and check valves to prevent the pcv system from pressurizing the case. Next...

Oh, and one other tip: Stuff a rag or something inside that tunnel behind the pcv valve. Otherwise that sneaky grommet will try to jump back in there and hide from you. Remember to remove the stuffing after you celebrate getting that pesky grommet installed.

I was attempting to change out the PCV Valve and accidently pushed the grommet down into the intake. Not able to see it at all. Now the question is: What if I leave it in there and just get a new grommet? Will it be a problem and cause damage? Or do I have to pull the intake and retrieve it?

But I think it will still work together as you said. The exhaust tube has a check valve so exhaust can't come back up to the intake
