    Blown Engine (Not!)

This past Sunday I was planning on taking the GN to the local track for a test and tune session. Several hours before the track opened, I decided to take the GN out for a spin to double check the tune and boost level. So I drive around and get the car warmed up and find a straight road for a...

Warning for Hot Air Ported Throttle Body Owners

Several years ago I bought a ported throttle body from this gentleman. http://www.throttlebodys.com/Hotair Buick.htm He did great work, however he did not use loctite on the butterfly screws on mine. Today one of the screws worked free and mangled the compressor of my TA-63 turbo. If you...

    Someone drove this??

Went to dinner with Pat (SloGN) and just couldn't resist taking a few pictures of this wreck sitting in the parking lot. Most cars at the junkyard look better than this. I'm sure that being nighttime only helped it's appearance.

Is the sun starting to set on the Turbo V6

I know this sounds like heresy, but it seems to me that today’s V8s are getting incredibly powerful in just their naturally aspired form. Let alone slap a turbo(s) or supercharger on them. I’m reading posts and talking to people it seems like we’re getting ready to have our butts handed to...

Richard Clark's Replacing Charge Wire Video

This video shows Richard Clark's explanation that replacing the stock charge wire (The wire between the Alternator and the Battery) with a large gauge wire makes little to no difference in voltage supplied to the battery. At times the gauges will be a little difficult to see. The car used is...

    Spot the Pumpkin

A few of us when to Piedmont Dragway yesterday for some 1/8th mile fun. They were handing out flyers for a race in a couple of weeks and guess who’s car was on the flyer. Look along the left side and click the image. Piedmont Dragway Jack’s car must be an excellent example of a...

    Time to go big

Before NSCA Nationals I took the car out was doing to some back road tuning. Everything was going peachy until one WOT blast and noticed oil smelling smoke coming into the cabin. Since I happened doing this road tuning in Richard Clark’s neck of the woods, I drove the car to his shop and...

    Met Jamie at BG

On my first day of the GSCA Nationals, I met Jamie and all I can say is WOW! Her and Carl are super nice people and her car is a super example of how and fast and quick car can also be a show car as well. I discovered the true secret of her car. It's the stuffed animals she takes down the...

Alky Nozzle Sizes and Pressure Ranges

Thanks to Julio I'm now logging Alky pressure with a new transducer. Does anyone have a table for various nozzle sizes and their effective pressure ranges? Say for instance, a M10 has a range of X to Y where X is the lowest pressure for properly spray/deliver alky and Y is the pressure it...

    Stock Air Box is Crap

Monday we put my buddy Pat's (SloGN) stock 84 WH1 on the dyno. It made about 145 HP and I honestly can't remember the torque numbers. He then decided to disconnect the stock airbox and make a pull. It was totally unbelieveable, the HP jumped to 185 and the torque was around 300. Talk...

    Turbo Regals with Tow Bars

I just have to ask this question. How many of you guys have tow bars on the back of your Turbo Regals? I’ve personally seen two and just got a call from someone that they just saw a GN towing a wood chipper in the Raleigh, NC area.

    ISAC Discussion Thread

I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread for those that have the ISAC controller or anyone thinking about purchasing one. The ISAC has replaced my in car manual knob style boost controller and the alkycontrol controller. I have a external wastegate (Racegate) that's now being...

    Hotair or Not?

This past weekend I was at a car show with the GM Turbo 6 car club. We had GNs, T-Types, Syclones and a Turbo Trans Am. Conrad Carter (Who’s account is “Hotair” on this board) was there with his 1984 GN. I believe I was mentioning to someone that I was the only Hotair at the show and Conrad...
