I free up all of the shafts before selling them. If you zoom in on the pic there is some rust......it's kind of unavoidable on a part pulled from a 30+ yr old vehicle in a northern climate. If rust free is important you may want an astro shaft?

The 97-2000 monte carlos and luminas did not have the red alarm button......so no guarantees that one would work. Best bet would be to search ebay for a 98 monte carlo fob and verify the back side has the numbers listed in the previous post. I see there are now brand new fobs on ebay.....and...

search for these numbers on ebay 16245100-29 ABO1502T 218101368 visually it will have the unlock, lock, and trunk buttons, and No red alarm button.

Good question, I would think the door lock relay would be similar on all 80's gm cars. I'm 99% sure it would work.

I just picked up one RKE module at the local U pull it. I'm not seeing these cars show up at the yard like I used to. $50 shipped.

I wouldn't tear apart the f-body either. He could build a 3800 GN/regal in addition to the f-body (I can't be the only one here with multiple projects going on at once?)

I hate to be captain obvious here.........but why not sell your GN, pick up a solid roller or NA regal......and build your own 3800 powered turbo buick? This is what I plan to do as time allows......I bought an 87 Turbo T roller a couple of years ago.....plan is junkyard l67, 4l80e, china...

Glad to hear it. My 86 442 is pretty much my daily driver during the warm months. It is nice to pop the trunk while walking out of the grocery store.....or to just hit the unlock button rather than fiddle with the keys at night...etc.
