I'll have to check the cat. converter too, whenever I get back. The day this happened I lost a 25 year old friend to lymphoma, kind of made my $500 deductible seem pretty minor.
This was in the business park in East Stapleton. Not a bad area, just deserted on the weekend. The area businesses get hit by these same guys from time to time.

I agree with Bison. The heat affected zone (HAZ) of the base metal is what often gets stressed and ends up cracking.
EDIT: I'm just talking about carbon steel in general, not any brand or specific product.
The best part of collecting stuff is always making sure everyone within earshot in person and online knows you have what other people don't have. Oh wait...no it's not.
