What do I need to convert turbo oil feed line to flexible line?

Just as the title says. I want to get a steel braided/teflon line made for the turbo oil feed . . . but they don't make them with the stock inverted flare fittings. What do I need/where can I get it to make it fit either a standard pipe fitting or something else that a hydraulic shop can make...

Any AV guys out there - need help with a Projector

Sorry . . . I meant to say most consumers AREN'T interested in rear projection. This is the only one on the Best Buy site that has 3000 lumens. Optoma - XGA DDR DLP Projector - EP771 I've never dealt with the Optoma brand before, though. HTH

Any AV guys out there - need help with a Projector

I do av/tech support for a university and EVERY projector that we have on campus allows for rear projection. We have varying brands and models from consumer grade products to higher end commercial units for lecture halls. You're correct in thinking it should just be a menu option. What...

    Stock 84 Turbo ?'s

Last summer and I spun a bearing in my stock 84 GN engine and that is currently getting rebuilt. I figured I better get my turbo checked out. It's a stock turbo. I haven't taken it in yet, but when I spoke to the turbo shop on the phone today, he said he would be happy to take a look at it...

What motors have have a turbo crank?

Talked to the machine shop a couple of days ago and they said the crank is too damaged to turn . . . so now I'm gonna look for a new one. I know that the 84-87 3.8 turbos and 87 TTA cranks can be used, but what else. I've read that the 4.1's had the same crank too, what what years...

    Hot Air shortblock vs. Intercooled

Are there significant differences between a hot air shortblock and an intercooled one? (I know the block casting numbers are different) I was thinking of getting an intercooled shortblock and putting my heads, etc on it, but will that work? Thanks for answering such a basic question. I...

    HA Crate Engine or Longblock?

Is there a company that sells HA crate engines or long blocks? I have found a few places that sell long blocks for the intercooled cars, but nothing for VIN code 9. Specifically, I've been looking at www.powerpro2000.com I'm guessing I won't find a place, but figured I would check anyway.

    Engine Rebuild Manual for TR's?

Is there a good comprehensive engine rebuild manual for TR's? My oil pump went and have pretty bad rod knock. I figure if I'm gonna pull the engine I might as well go through the whole thing well. I'm not planning to do anything much more than stock (the car is more of a cruiser than a...

Turbo Buick engine builder in Midwest?

Started hearing a knock today coming from the left rear cylinder. Pulled the valve cover, started it and no oil came out. So the oil pump went and now I've got what I'm pretty sure is a rod knock. My Dad and I haven't decided yet if we're going to attempt the rebuild or just take is...

    Best (Cheap) OBDII Scanner

Looking to get an inexpensive OBDII scanner to pull SES and ABS codes and erase them. I've see both Actron and Auto X-ray models for about $150. Are they any good? Anything better or cheaper that I should be looking at. Definitely don't want to spend more than $200 . . . it's just for my...

Cam sensor questions (Should I replace?)

I'm in the process of replacing my timing chain and wondering if I should do the cam sensor too. I've read that I should check for slop in the cam sensor, but how much is ok and what kind should I be concerned about (up and down, back and forth, spinning). When I took the cap off the cam...

Test pipe for 84-85 stock gn?

If you have access to a welder, you could just make one. You can get the square flange at NAPA. I carefully cut the bell flange from my old cat convertor and welded it into the new pipe. Less than $10 in materials I think. I couldn't find one already manufactured.

    Anyone ever build a kegerator?

Since I'm not going anywhere this spring break, I figure I might as well have a project. I'm thinking that I'll build a kegerator for my college apartment. I'm starting from the ground up. I need to find a dorm sized refridgerator (prob about 5 cu feet) that will hold at least a 1/4 keg...

I've been using Windows Media player for quite awhile now. I recently set up an old desktop as a file server and put all of my music files on it . . .
