Name Some obscure US Produced Cars Made during the 1970s

Well, "obscure" surely does not apply to Gremlin and Pacer, but these eyesores were really oddball in my mind.....

    Windshield trim

Thanks. I found out that they break easily. Do you know if the clips are replaceable from auto glass shops, or are they a discontinued item at Buick like everything else?

How do the metal trim pieces come off the front windshield? I guess the rear is the same.

    flowmaster mufflers

I have a pair of Flowmasters branching from the cat. The plumbing is extra large. I haven't noticed anything bad about the set up. The growl sounds cool, also.

    Soft compound brake pads

Are there any vendors selling soft compound stock size pads for front? I know Kirban's sells some for rear, but did not see any pads.

    Steering geometry

Adding a shim to, say, right front upper A-arm mount, no other changes, does what? Affects castor, camber, both? Toe in for sure, I'm thinking, but what else?

    '86 T-type no spark

Bad ignition module (bolted on directly below coil packs). Replaced with one from O'Reillys. Working great. If you have this problem, see: Vortex Buicks Wonderful site for "no start" troubleshooting and other stuff.

    Steering box adjustment

Tnx reply, RmvBfrFlght. Was it a battle getting that pitman arm off the spline? How did you do it? I've read from other forums about nightmares getting the arm off. Some just resorted to cutting it off.....

    Manual brakes conversion

It sort of looks like the Dorman is counterbored for the plunger shaft. Can't really tell from the angle. Did you have to modify the plunger to use with it? Also, if it is counterbored, is it deep enough to keep the plunger shaft from falling out accidentally, or do you rely on the rubber...

Follow up to manual brakes conversion.....

If I decide to keep stock front discs and drums rear, would a manual brake system still function alright? What mc would work with the stock set up? I've seen quite a few posts saying a 7/8" or 15/16" bore is best, some recommend S10 from mid 90's. Another is using a Chrysler type. Is...

    '86 T crankshaft

Anyone know of a good Dallas machinist/machine shop who understands the special crank attributes, i.e. fillets, etc. on our cars? How about valve work, also?

    Deteriorated windshield molding

My '86 T's front windshield seal is leaking. The rubber has become brittle and crumbly. Is there a specific molding for our cars, or can an auto glass shop replace it with a generic strip? Are all windshields sealed the same way? If need a "Buick Regal" specific part, do any of the...

    Aftermarket tach

What tach works no mods and using the green clip behind alternator? I looked at the signal coming off the clip with my oscilloscope and saw the five volt square wave. Almost perfect square wave, too. Do all modern aftermarket tachs made for distributorless systems run off a five volt square...
