All three were GM modules. Why I was so perplexed but I guess the build quality isn't what they were. The first module had a few thousand miles on it and had slowly gotten worse in how it acted. I hope this one lasts longer.
Hey all, sorry for the long time since an update was posted.
Ok. I ran both est wires from the ECM to the Ignition module and also replaced the ignition module 2 more times. The first one I bought was defective right out of the box and had no spark at all. After all this I finally had a chance...
I have cr43ts ac delco plugs. They are resistor plugs. I was looking over the wiring again tonight. The code is setting right away now so that should help in tracking it down. As I was looking at the schematic I see I have a tan with a white tracer at b on the module and d5 at the ecm. The...
Hey Guys, sorry for the long delay. I haven't had any free time lately to try to diagnose the car. I finally got a bit of time this evening. I hooked up my lab scope and watched the cam sensor pattern. The car is getting bad enough now that I can load up some and it will act up in the garage...
I pulled the cam sensor cover off of the assembly and checked the wheel for loose play. All was good. Due to the weather I didn't drive it with the cam sensor unplugged. I will bring my scope home from work and try to look at the patterns this week.
Thanks for all the info.
I have a 2 channel scope. I can watch for any glitches but I don't have a good signal to compare it with on something this old. I can give it a go. The problem has been it usually wont act up on just a stall test. Tuesday was the first time it has done it this bad and at low rpms and speed. I...
I have tap tested the ecm and also swapped ecm's. It was usually after warm up but when I drove it 2 days ago it did with in 1 minute of starting it and continued for the 23 mile trip to work. Doesn't have any difference on what gear its in. Actually did it when I backed in to the garage when I...
I did a BG fuel service on it a few hundred miles ago. Also added the 44k to the tank. I have the fuel pressure set at 43 psi with the vacuum hose off per the turbo tweak chip. Its not a tip in stumble. More of a steady state cruise cut out. I have thought TPS many times but its not at the same...
Hey all. I have been searching a gremlin for some time now and I am just about to the point I don't want to drive the car.
I am fighting a light throttle cut out condition. At times almost feels like a miss but today it was the worst yet. Could even feel it cut out while coasting.
So far I...
Hi, I ended up with a gallon of denatured ethanol instead of methanol. I have a Razors Alky kit. Does anyone know if I can use the ethanol on top of and mix with the methanol? If so would I need to make any adjustments?
Thanks,
Tim
Thanks for the replys. For a quick fix I put the ground on the coil bracket but Im guessing it was left off when he trans was removed last year. I will install it back to the transmission bell housing bolt when I get a chance.
Can someone tell me where the proper location is for the braided ground strap thats on the firewall near the wiper motor attachment to the engine is? I found mine just hanging behind the engine.
Thanks,
Tim
Anyone prchased a set of reproduction seat covers lately and if so how was the color and fit? Looking to replace mine soon due to age and would like to match the factory as close as posible. Im guessing original new covers are long gone?
Thanks,
Tim
Thanks for the info. I have always heard less back pressure is always better. I havent really pushed the turbo to see how much it can build. Possibly booking some dyno time to play and tune some. Might throw another pound or two of boost in to see how it responds.
