    Harsh 2-3 shift?

    A guy on another site has a Bowtie 200-4r & say the 1-2 are good 3-4 is good but 2-3 very harsh. I don't know if it can be sent back or not.     TES-295 fluid?

    Is this a suitable fluid for the 200-4r? It's an Allison approved fluid.

    Anybody ever mess with MTV valves?

    I'm running a shimmed TV limit & lightened gov. to get 64-6500 WO shifts. As you would guess the PT shifts are up there too. Light moderate throttle gets the 2-3 about 40+ & 3-4 60+ it would be good if I could knock them down about 10 mph.

    Trying to lower 2-3 PT shift point.

    I put the stock 2-3 shift spring back in had a blue from SK kit. Put in a slightly shorter TV plunger spring. CQ vb.

    Dex 6 vs. Dex 3 shift quality?

    Does Dex 6 shift a bit softer? I noticed mine was shifting a little less firm after I change my direct clutches & servo since changing to Dex 6. I used a Sonnax super hold servo & changed my directs to a 7 clutch setup from David.

    Rough 3-2, is my thinking right?

    Would it help to increase the 3rd clutch feed, & would it help 3rd to release quicker? Still have a slight bind @ low mid throttle so I need to increase the 3rd accum. hole? 3-2 control is blocked.

    Burnt directs with dual feed?

    I tore my trans down to take a look cause I had it out due to converter issues. Found the directs were burned & steels hot spotted. Would a slight bind on the 2-3 cause it? Don't ask what the press. was, I never checked, thought they would be good they were 270 with the same pump before. Didn't...

    Symtom of broken sprag in converter?

    Made a couple runs at the track & was able to log RPM. When I launched the RPM never really flashed above rated stall of 3200, if fact it was below that.

    Rough 2-3 detent with dual feed?

    Is that the nature of it? I didn't do the 3-2 valve mod when I did I just used CK's plate.

    Fluid out the vent?

    Do your transmissions tend to puke a little out the vent when slightly over full?

    2-3 pt shift point too high?

    In an effort to get shift points in the 6000 area, I removed some weight from the gov. & shimmed the TV limit .050. But I put the red or blue spring from a SK kit on the 2-3 valve. I haven't tried a WOT shift but the 1-2 @ 15mph 2-3 @30mph 3-4 @ 50mph. I'm thinking the 2-3 is so high is from...

    FS 200-4r converter

    200-4r lockup rated at 26-2800 stall, it would stall to 3000 in my car. $200 shipped in the lower 48.

    Pan, do you think it was worth the work?

    Deepened the pan 5/8 of an inch, to 3 inches. But I had to put a couple of stands to keep the filter in place. So really only gained 1/8 plus bottom feed instead of top.

    Tab washers, magical

    Is their something magical about them? Well I had ordered one from David H. since I was on the phone with him. Then I went to Bulk parts & ordered another, had to order other stuff. The one from David hasn't shown yet, he did offer to send another UPS instead of mail, I told him I'll wait & see...

    Excessive front end play.

    Like .060 or so with the thickest washer I have for the output. I machined the rear internal gear for a bearing & did the low support. Rear end play is .003 with the yellow selective. Must have missed something.

    Front internal gear bushing?

    Is that normally a problem area? On mine I have about 20K miles since I did it & all the other bushing look good except this one. It should be replace I think, but I can't seen to find without buying them all. Anybody have an extra?

    First place you would replace washer with bearing?

    I have some spares to mess with, so I just started at the rear ring gear. Is it OK to take the full amount off of the gear. If not I already F****ed up.:eek:
