I hear you on the RTV, but just a question why it would cause problems? I have never run into a problem with RTV before and it was recommended to me to use it on this problem by a very knowledgeable old time mechanic who has done a lot of work for me in the past.

I put the S 10 blazer front brakes and the S 10 rear brake cylinders on my 2 HA cars years ago. I love the better braking! Never any brake lock up problems. If you do the calculations, it appears to me the results of the changes pretty much balances out, but I am NO expert. Just my $.02 worth!

Both my T's always ran hot. Champion radiators, 160 T-stats, water wetter, electric 87 fans, etc I think I have tried everything! New rebuilt engine in the 84 still runs hot! So it is not blown head gaskets!

I did not try that. I went to the 86 TB & cable. I had the Thermostat tube TIG welded up to clear the alternator bracket. I guess a brazed joint would work, it just isn't quite as strong as the welded tube.

Put an 86/87 intake on it with a modified upper plenum and a TA 49 turbo with a bigger down pipe from GBodyParts.com and play with that for awhile. The 2 big $ parts are the turbo and the D/P, but still less than probably $1500 total. Just IMHO

Yes, the turbo oil drain tube needs the gasket and clean both the oil drain tube flange and the mating surface on the turbo before putting it all back together again. HTH
