Just a guess as I've never seen them before but if you've had OEM GM weatherstrip, you know that the ends of the rubber has a piece of think hard plastic molded into the rubber where the screws go so as to prevent ripping of the rubber. On aftermarket, there is no plastic molded into the rubber...

There is apparently a small vacuum piece (a small black disc) that goes bad and defaults to defrost and foot well vent. I have the HAVC pieces pulled apart but I have yet to pull the small disc as I'm not sure how (without breaking something)... I'll get to it eventually. I also need to look at...

I pulled my CSII head unit from my 86GN to send out to be refurbished. Nothing is wrong with it (that I know of) but it would be nice to know it's 100%. I was rooting through my boxes of parts and found another CSII style head unit that looks really close until you look at the back. Wondering...
