Do all F-Body LT1's have a 3" MAF or just the LT1 in the Impala?
I'm going to buy a 3" for the Translator Plus, but I don't know if the F-Body's have a 3.5" or 3", and I can't find anything but a Granatelli MAF for the Impala.

Is the Granatelli really worth $100 more than the stock unit?

Not in my opinion.
Might try relocating the MAF thou.
Tech area in GnTtype has the info.

MAF

All LT1 F-body MAF's are 3.5"

The Impala uses the same sensor as some v6 cars (not sure which)

The LS1 sensor is 3.5" and is cheaper than the 3.5" LT1 sensor and works very well.

I'd get the LS1 MAF and forget about the granatelli stuff.

You can do a little hunting on http://www.acdelco.com/html/index.htm to find what MAF come on what car. Get the part number for the Impala SS, then go to the crossover guide and see what cars came with that part number. Same thing with the LS1 MAF. I got a 3" MAF (same as Impala SS) off a '96 Buick at a salvage yard for $30. Seems like most of the 3" MAFs came on 6 cyls and most of the 3.5" MAFs came on 8's.
