So here is my new daily Driver "Beater" as i say, considering my other rides

Here is the deal:
For $300 Bought it from my aunt with a Bad TCU, she got sick of it and i bought it for what was owed to my uncle for parts and labor for taking the balance shafts out to cure the oil pressure problem.

Car: 1992 Laser RS Turbo 84,000 Miles
Interior:Is in great condition absolutely no flaws!
Paint: Is completely rust free it has only been driven one winter since my aunt and uncle bought it brand new, paint has some clear coat peeling and some minor dings.
Trans: Brand New, Auto FWD
Tires: Brand New BFG Traction T/A tires
Engine: 4G63 Turbo, Balance Shafts removed

Since i picked it up i have done a quick $20 tint job that i have to do the second stage of shrinking in the rear quarters to get rid of wrinkles, and Palm Logger. Also i installed a 2000 Silverado auto tinting, direction/Temp mirror.

Hope you all like it, Dan

P.S. Sorry for the camera pics

How'd you hook up that rearview mirror? Can it be done in a buick t-type? I actually have been wanting to give my car some modern features like that rearview mirror possibly with the ONstar even. Any thoughts?

I have had a lot of questions about the mirror i have been thinking of doing a write up on how to do it, its extremely simple if you have a U-Pull it yard in your area! I actually have it done to my GN also.
-ill attach a pick of it in my GN.
With onstar would be very hard, unless you can buy the control module and register your car with them aftermarket.

The DSM was well preserved, my uncle bought it brand new as a "sports car" and it was his baby for a long time (only driven on good days), then my other aunt bought it in 2004 as a winter driver because she has a new vette and a duramax to pull her show horse trailer and didnt really care about much, after it stopped shifting it sat in a storage shed since 2006! I saved it in great condition being driven very minimally for only two winters!

What car did you pluck that mirror out of ? I was in the pick a part yard lookin for one and couldnt find it i just got one w lights instead:cool:

I take them out of any GM late model truck: Around 97-98 and newer suburban/tahoe/yukon/escalade, 2000 and newer silverado/sierra. Also note that when you take the mirror out that you pull as much as possible of the wiring harness/pigtail out, i get all the way down to were the A-Pillar meets the dash, also dont forget to take the temp sensor out from the core support right behind the bowtie by the grill, take it along with as much of the harness/pigtail as possible i take all of the harness all the way up to the firewall bulk head connector. After you get it all removed you are good to go with all the wiring that was taken you are ready to solder and shrink wrap the temp sensor wiring harness back together and connect switched power and a ground and its ready to go! I have the wire connections you need to do also if enough people are interested ill do a write up and include some pics of what needs to be done.

At the local you pull it by me they dont know what they have and the mirror/harness's/sensor only cost me $8 so i have done this swap four times now and it works great!

Yes please do post this. I'm very interested and i'm sure there probably are alot of other people that would want to do this upgrade if not it's atleast make me happy. I wanted to do something new upscale buick like the rearview with onstar and possibly even and automatic with a paddle shift. So if you figure how to do either of those transplants into our cars i wanna know.:D but for now the rearview with tint and temp is an eyecatching mod. Thanks
