I'm not sure about the years but they had the rolled fillet crank but the flange for the flexplate is smaller. Rods were the same. Heads were the same on some of them. The bolt pattern for the tranny is different. I know of a guy who put one in an S-10 with a 700-R4. It's got a TE62, bigger cam (stock is a roller cam so that's a plus) ported heads and intake, etc and it's been totally reliable. The only thing internally I think he changed was the pistons and this thing is a monster on the street.
