Cam Break in or Cam failure

There is alot of talk about doing a proper cam break in for flat tappet cams, here my question, GM I don't think did any type of break in when these engines were built and most of us can say we never had any cam problems until the cams were changed out to some different profile. Same goes for engine break in, the cars were delivered to dealers with fresh engines and cams and no break in and from there they were driven hard i assume.?????

Are you sure they weren't broken in.

I assumed there was a "run in" period before delivery to the assembly plant.

No, Dave I am not sure. I am curious if they did? I just don't think GM would take the time for a engine run-in prior to installing it, does anyone know?
