OK any one now what computers out of any other car will work in the turbo Buick or what part number. If any others will work.

1986 NA 3.8 SFI is the same. Only 1986. GM #1226459. Used in Park Ave.Electra,LeSabre,Riviera,Century,Olds 88/98,Toronado,Ciera.

Eric, I thought GM part number: 1227148 would only work in our cars? The other part number you listed above will work too? That part number is only good for 1986 model years?

You're correct. 1227148 is the number. That other number was for a hot air I was screwing around with.

I never saw a 1227148 in a Riv or Toronado.

Best bet is the front-drive full size 86 Buicks and Olds with 3.8s.

Right you are John. I wonder why a Rivonado ECM wouldn't work in place of the 1227148? It might be something as simple as a BCM(Body Control Module) interface feature. I dont see to many 86-87 Rivs in the boneyard so it may be awhile before I see what the actuall difference is. Either that or when I find the time I can look in the FSM and find something there.
