I've been kicking around the ideal of the vacuum brake conversion. I've heard that you're not able to hold back as much boost with vac brakes.

To those that have made the switch, how much boost can you hold on the line? More or less than power master brakes?

I never had a problem. I believe I can hold at least 5-7lbs. If you really want, you can get the vacuum reservoir from summitracing.com.

Scott,

IMO, here is the bottom line. If your car seldom sees a race track, go for the vac conv. If you are serious about launching the car and being competitive at the track, then stick with the PM. I usually take a little flak on this but just attend any Buick race event and with a rare exception or two, you will not find any fast cars with vac brakes that do not have a trans brake. With a 29K mile car you may also consider originality.

Good luck,

Hank
