Hood emblem removal...again

I went to my local yokel paint shop today and told them I needed to remove the rest of my hood bulge emblem and needed a product to do it. He didn't know of one other than mineral spirits or denatured alcohol. Well, the alcohol screwed up the paint pretty bad, fortunately the new emblem will cover it up.

I'd really rather not repaint the hood, how can I get the rest of my emblem off? Heat and water didn't help loosen it. Someone mentioned a product being available...anyone know the exact name?

Have a body shop use and "eraser" and buff it.
An eraser is exactly what it sounds like. Goes on a die grinder and rubs the old crap off. If the old adhesive is REALLY hard, they'll have to sand it off. It could be done with out repaint but would need to be done by some one who cares.
