Megasquirt for V6 Turbo

G'day Guys

I've got a 1985 Regal done up as a GNX tribute car that I bought about 3-4 years ago and has sat in storage. Looking to get it running in the next few months. Was running a Haltech ECU when i bought it but i wasn't happy with the wiring or ecu and ripped everything out before it got stored.

I have since purchased a megasquirt a few years ago - MS3357-C, from memory Megasquirt ms3x. I will be looking at putting in the harness I bought with the megasquirt from diyautotune at the same time.

Few things I'm chasing.

• Anyone have pictures of where they mounted the megasquirt, under dash?
• Base tune for the megasquirt so i could get to get this thing running.
• What tuning software to use, this is going to be a learning tuning project at the same time, or try and find someone here in Australia to assist with tuning.
• Any issues or problems anyones had with going megasquirt?

Engine was modified by the previous owner and has a few go fast bits on it. Also have different coils and Quadspark controller from diyautotune to go on at same time.

Why not fit a vn commodore loom and ecu will fit nice and easy and have a fair few tuners depending on location

i've already got the megasquirt and the new harness, not sure how i'd go trying to sell these.

not sure if they make new/repo vn harness, but then theres the addition of a few other sensors that would need to be incorporated into the wiring as well.

People are running megasquirt here with great success. I remember there was a small fiasco a few years back where they were trying to silence talk about it...I think it was something about none of our vendors selling it. I know this guy Benny on here runs it, and at least a few other people do too. It's supposed to be a real nice system, and I'm fairly certain Cal Hartline knows how to tune them. He can probably help you a bit with start up tunes and what not.

edit: Oops! Looks like I may have been mistaken. I think they are running ProEFI. I'm still fairly certain there's members running megasquirt though.

Daniel Jost is the first I've seen that's been able to get Mega Squirt to work on a TB as documented here. Reach out to him or do search on his name. Tons of info.

It's not about getting it to work, it's all the same sensors that the car already has, it was just not a plug and play kit. Very soon there's supposed to be a mega squirt plug and play kit. I'm probably going that route when it comes out.
