What are the symptoms of a TV cable that is too long?

When I do the TV cable adjustment by pushing in the direction of the
firewall then depressing the pedal, Im only getting a single click,

new rebuild on the transmission, Im still getting used to the way it shifts

Flooring the throttle to adjust the TV cable is the wrong procedure and will break the adjuster. It needs to be adjusted by hand at throttle with resistance applied to TV cable as it rachets out. This allows the cable to racket out controlled.

Get under the hood and open the throttle at the throttle body.
Can you get the throttle all the way open?
If not,push in on the tab and move the adjuster toward the front of the car until full throttle is achieved.
While holding the throttle all the way open,can you pull the throttle cable toward the front of the car.
If the cable can be moved forward with the throttle full open,it is too loose.
Push the tab in and move the adjuster toward the firewall one click.
Check and adjust again until there is no forward movement of the cable at full open throttle.
