TE60 combo and times

So far I've been 7.5x's in the 1/8th and 11.9's in the 1/4 with mine this was with 170k valve springs and a chip for the stock turbo...tomorrow I'm going agian with new valve springs (100lbs) and a Turbo tweak chip.

TE60 is just a tad larger than a TE44, i dont want to go into the specifics, but the te60 should EASILY shove your car into the mid 11s on a 1.60 sixty foot.

You need to do the simple things like boxing the upper and lower control arms, set of new slicks, lock up the stock convertor ect.

Best ive seen from a friends car with a TA 60 is low 11s here about 10 years ago in a TTA.
But that was high boost and low timing.
Now it seems times have changed and its mid level boost and plenty of timing to make the car run out.

My brothers car went 11.54@117.5 on a 1.73 60ft. About 24psi and some misc. 25* chip. TE60, 50's, restalled d5. Should see 10.9X if the air is right this season.

Good luck man.

both ta60 and te60's are enough.

and both are legendary. Wonderfull turbos for street guys!! Throw a half
way decent TC on it, and your in for some real fast 0-60 times.

TE60 times

First time to the track with this car. The best I did was:
RT--------.1301
60ft------1.8099
330ft-----5.2239
1/8ET-----8.0520
1/8MPH---86.03
1000'E----10.4911
1000'MPH--99.98
1/4ET-----12.5592
1/4MPH----108.96

@22psi of boost, 21 degrees of timing. Leaving off the foot brake. What can I do to improve my 60' times. Im not interested in a trans brake. I have the s-10 rear cyl. The rest of my info is in the sig. I want to get in the 11's before I add alky.

The best Ive ever ran with my current combo has been 11.20 @ 119mph. Running 24psi boost with C-16 in the tank. I have a TE60 with a .63 garrett exh. housing. Orange stripe torque convertor. Precision stock location intercooler, 3" downpipe. Along with the necessary upgrades. Injectors, hotwired xp pump, adjustable reg,.etc.etc.etc. My 60' time was 1.57 with a stock suspension with 2 airbags and a snubber. I was very impressed with the results compared to what the car ran last year. Last year I had the stock turbo, intercooler, downpipe. It ran a 12.20 @108mph. Im running 28x9 M/T E.T. drag slicks.

I love this turbo for street manners. It spools really fast and once it spools up hang on. I actually would like to get a bigger ball bearing turbo to go even faster.

The engine was rebuilt about 2 years ago. Just freshened it up with .030 over forged pistons, a bigger flat tappet camshaft and stock freshened up heads. Not ported.

My best time with my old TE60 was 11.08@121. The tranny let go when I tried to get into the 10s.

Here were some of the highlights;
Johnson PnP heads
APA roller cam
PTE FMIC
75# injectors
extender extreme chip/ translator +
Turbo 350/ Holeshot 3000 converter

I went 11.87 @ 114mph with a 1.76 60ft. Stock suspension and passenger airbag. I was running 22 psi of boost. 28x9 slicks. I know there is much more in her.

Speaking of the TE-60, where is the "sweet" spot regarding the boost?

Thanks and Good Luck

Te 60

I have read that this turbo is still really pulling at 26#s. I will be running this turbo in Nov. Hope for some good times.
