In the market for a set of aluminum heads for a stock block. Open to any manufacturers. Would prefer a complete set, ready to bolt on, but open to options. Figured I would check before potentially ordering new.
Hey guys,
I had a transmission shop bust the front grill insert on my 86 GN. They are willing to replace, but they ordered what looks like to be an all black 87 grill. I haven’t been able to fine one specifically for my car with the chrome trim. Anyone have a lead on where to track one down?
So just to update an old thread for anyone who was curious. After continuing to educate myself on the car and tuning, I believe I found the issue. When I emailed Eric (TT) when I got the car to investigate the chip, he said it was probably too lean if there were any mods other than simply 60#...
Good point. I topped it off. It was less than half full already, but didn’t want to run it all the way down to E before filling up. I’ll keep an eye on it till I can get a good full tank of 93.
My only concern is that Eric said it was specifically programmed for a stock car with only 60# injectors. Seems like that doesn’t match what’s on the car. Boost gauge is reading closer to 20lbs. ScanMaster O2 in the 750-850 range with 1-3 degrees of knock if you punch it.
Update for anyone curious. Car arrived today. Does have a TT chip. Boost not near as high as dealer claimed. Emailing Erik to see what he can tell me based off the chip.
Just purchased an 86 GN with 42k miles. Having it delivered today in the Upstate of South Carolina. First time with a GN, so looking forward to learning more and hopefully building out a monster of a car!
Very appreciative of all the feedback guys. I hopefully have found an experienced GN guy here in the area that could help investigate this thing as well once it arrives as well.

This is the listing for the car with all of the photos. That is all of the information I know about what mods have been done until the car arrives. In the video about the car, he mentions a boost controller under the seat I believe...
